Windsor Pivot Floor Machine
Most
commercial cleaning companies use power
equipment to clean floors
in hopes of cutting down on labor expenses. There are many
machines that can be used to clean many different types of
flooring, one of these machines is a floor machine. The floor
machines basic purpose is to scrub the floor and break up heavy
soils. This type of cleaning equipment takes the place of
conventional scrub brushes which can lead to worker fatigue and
accidents. Windsor has developed a small floor machine that can be
used on many types of flooring which can get into smaller areas
that conventional disc type machines. The pivot by Windsor uses
counter rotating brushes similar to that of the beater bar on a
vacuum cleaner, however unlike a vacuum cleaner it uses to two
brushes instead of one. The size of this unit makes it convenient
for cleaning smaller areas such as offices, bathrooms and entrance
ways.
The two main
parts to this floor machine are the handle assembly and base
assembly. The base assembly consists of a motor and belt drive
system that rotates two brushes in counter synchronicity. This
provides a deeper scrub to remove even the toughest soils, dirt
and grease. The brushes are powered by a 600 rpm motor which has
ample power to drive the two sixteen inch brushes. An added
feature to this machine is that different brushes can be
interchanged for different types of flooring. A white brush can be
used for soft scrubbing and delicate floors because of its soft
bristles. A red brush with a medium bristle can be used for normal
scrubbing and cleaning. An orange brush is used for grout cleaning
on ceramic tile surfaces. A green brush can be used to remove
grease and built-up dirt. By utilizing this interchangeable brush
system the Windsor Pivot can be used on many different types of
flooring. The base assembly also integrates a solution tank that
can be filled with cleaning solution and used to wet the floor
while scrubbing to provide additional cleaning power. The handle
assembly is designed ergonomically to cut down on worker fatigue
and to make it easier to operate. Two convenient switches are
located at the top of the handle to turn the machine on and off.
Also a unique feature that is integrated in the handle is an
enclosure for the transport wheels so that the machine can be
easily moved from worksite to worksite. The wheels are easily
attached to the base when transporting and can unlock from the
base within 30 seconds for machine use.
In case the
machine needs to be serviced it can be disassembled quickly
on-site. Most floor machines can cumbersome to work on and require
specialized tools resulting in downtime and decreased
productivity. The Windsor pivot tank is easily removed from the
machine which provides access to most parts that cannot be
accessed from the bottom of the unit. Windsor parts are built from
quality materials and easily found at any local Windsor parts
distributor. Very little maintenance is needed other than
replacement of brushes and belts. Overall the machine is an
essential tool for most commercial cleaners when cleaning smaller
areas that cannot be cleaned with conventional type disc for
machines. At under $2000 the

expensive labor and provide better cleaning than conventional
